POLICE believe there are no "suspicious circumstances" surrounding the sudden death of an 85-year-old man in the Borders.
Officers in the Borders received reports of the man found dead on a rural road in St Boswells yesterday afternoon (Thursday, February 22).
Police and the ambulance service attended at Kirk Road near Benrig Cemetery at around 3pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50pm on Thursday, 22 February, 2024, police were made aware of the sudden death of an 85-year-old man on Kirk Road, St Boswells, Melrose.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
