BURRELL.- (Galashiels) Peacefully at Borders General Hospital on Friday 14th April, 2017, Maisie, aged 97, beloved wife of the late Drew, much loved mum of Stuart and Rosemary and a loving granny and great granny of the family. A service will be held on Thursday 27th April at Lilliesleaf Parish Church at 10.30 am thereafter interment at Lilliesleaf cemetery at 11.00 am, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited.

Thank you Stuart for letting me know of Aunt Maisie's passing. Your letter arrived today. I know Maisie has lived a long and happy life, but I still feel very very sad. The price of love is grief. Maisie was my Mum's precious best friend and I have so many fabulous memories of her, Drew, you and Rosemary visiting the farm and Crail. It was always my hope that I would manage to get back to Scotland from New Zealand to see Maisie once again. However, I am so very grateful that Hamish and Kirsty both got to spend time with her on their visits to Scotland. I will miss our annual exchange of snail mail letters! Please feel my love and best wishes from across the miles. Take care. It is the 27th here in NZ already, but I will be thinking of you tomorrow. Maisie you will be remembered with smiles.
