The meeting of the A7 Action Group in Stow was chaired by local MP Michael Moore.

WORRIES over the rising number of accidents on the A7 north of Galashiels saw the A7 Action Group meet in Stow for the first time.

Local councillor Sandy Aitchison, who missed the meeting due to another engagement, believes that the route should have more attention to tackle any issues.

“The statistics of fatal road accidents between Galashiels and Fala Hill prompted the Action Group to meet in Stow, and the next meeting will be held in Selkirk,” he said.

“While we have to focus on the whole length of the A7, we specifically need to focus on the serious accident rates.”

The meeting in Stow, which was very well received, was chaired by MP Michael Moore.

I see the anti-Waverly lobby ares till using any story to further their cause. Perhaps the best way to reduce deaths on the A7 is to reduce the number of users on the road by providing safe and efficient public transport that is not at the mercy of deteriating road conditions.
