Nurses race for life
By Ally McGilvray
BIG-hearted nurses across the Borders raised hundreds of pounds for charity at the weekend.
A team of seven staff from Borders General Hospital and their friends joined thousands of other runners in the Race For Life in Edinburgh on Sunday.
They ran five kilometres up and down Arthur’s Seat in aid of Cancer Research.
Claire Clapperton, 20, from Galashiels, who knocked 17 minutes off her finish time last year to complete the race in 40 minutes this year, said: “It was exhausting but great fun.”
