LOCAL karate exponents have been chopping down their opponents recently.
Several youngsters from Galashiels and Selkirk attending Martin Brownlee’s classes in Galashiels Academy have climbed up the karate ladder and earned their Junior Black Belts.
“The club has been very active and they have all done well,” said Martin. “I am very pleased with their success.
“They are tremendous and have worked very hard for their awards. It shows their commitment to get their grades.
“Martin takes his classes – junior from five years of age and seniors from teenager through to adulthood on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It is free to join the club, but a charge is made for the classes.
