GALA RFC scored a double at the weekend despite the 1st XV losing to Heriot's in the cup. The Gala Girls won the SWRU under-15 Cup by beating Murrayfield Wanderers at Murrayfield and the Minis won the P6 tournament at Melrose.

GALA may have lost out to Heriot's in the Scottish Hydro Electric Cup on Saturday.

But the Gala Girls won the SWRU under-15 Cup at Netherdale and the Minis won the P6 event at the Melrose tournament.

The double lifted Gala spirits ahead of this weekend's crucial Premiership 3 match at Irvine.

"It will be a tough game and we will be prepared for it," said coach Richie Gray.

A win will take Gala back into Premiership 2.
