Photo-finish as Kings gallop up final furlongs
By Atholl Innes
THE Kings of the Sevens series gallops into its final two furlongs over the next two weekends- and could be set for a photo-finish.
Selkirk lead Hawick by a head, but coming up fast on the rails are Watsonians, whose win at Peebles has propelled Andrew Ker’s side into third place.
With close on £5000 to be won, the race is on for first prize with the Earlston tournament on Sunday and the curtain coming down at Jed-Forest on May 12.
The Earlston Sevens, sponsored Graham, main contractor for the Three High Schools Project, kick off at 1 p.m.
The draw is: Langholm v. Peebles’ Selkirk v. Stewart’s Melville, Jed-Forest v. Gala, Melrose v. Haddington, Kelso v. Duns, Edinburgh Accies v. Earlston, Hawick v. Heriot’s Watsonians v. Berwick.
