NEXT month Stow will celebrate its fifth annual music festival.

And organisers of the fabulous Stowed Out have lined up the strongest cast of artists to date.

Last year's Stowed Out was a major success with headliners Model Aeroplanes taking the village stage by storm.

The festival had an exciting and atmospheric mood showing Stow knows how to rock.

This year the mazing Stanley Odd and Ded Rabbit are both playing the Saturday.

And the Friday evening will be headlined by Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchison, fresh from performing at Glastonbury Festival.

Legendary folk artist Archie Fisher will also pull up a chair to entertain on the Friday evening.

Stowed Out does not only provide magical music, but spoken word performers will be on the Roar Stage.

Kate Alies and Iona Lee bring another aspect of the arts to the festival, introducing us to performers who are engaging and talented.

Stanley Odd, the Saturday night headliners are a fresh Scottish hip hop band using their alternative beats with Dave Hook's distinct Scottish accent and concentrated lyrics to create an unusual and effective sound.

The excitement does not end there, as alternative indie band Ded Rabbit will also be playing.

Ded Rabbit brings echoes of the Arctic Monkeys and The Wombats to the table, infusing their cool sound and catchy lyrics with their distinct style.

A Festival spokesman told us: "Stowed Out is an organization which depends on volunteers to run and everyone who goes is always keen to help out ensuring a successful couple of days.

"The community’s enthusiasm towards the festival shows its growing success, every year it gets bigger and bigger.

"Stowed Out has come a long way since 2012 when it started off. If you have not got your tickets yet they can be purchased on the website."

The festival also offers a range of craft stalls as well as delicious catering and food.

There is also a festival bar.

And the family friendly environment comes to the fore throughout the day with Spinning Jenny's Circus Skills providing entertainment,

The fifth Stowed Out takes place on August 26 and 27.
