YOU can expect some musical mayhem on Sunday when The Magnificent Organ blows into the Borders for the first time.

The Magnificent Organ is the magical, mechanical invention that has been in the Bucatini-Garibaldi family for decades.

Scotland’s foremost street theatre company, Mischief La-Bas, present the fun-packed, family friendly, outdoor show in Wilton Lodge Park.

Inspired by the mayhem Spike Jones brought to his musical numbers, as well as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a nostalgia for British children’s TV programmes of the 1970s such as Trumpton and Camberwick Green, The Magnificent Organ combines screwball comedy and acrobatic antics, choreographed to an original musical score.

With its carefully painted detail, embellished with a welter of moving pipes, horns and limbs, the Organ itself is a spectacular example of bespoke cabinet making and a delightful curiosity in any public space.

A spokesman told us: “This is a colossal combination of all that is great in one perfect, musical achievement.

“Our beautifully handcrafted and ornately painted Organ is an amazing artifact, a strange and wondrous spectacle to behold, and no-one should

miss this opportunity to witness it."

The Magnificent Organ will be at Wilton Lodge Park from 2pm to 4pm.
