EDNAM House in Kelso is yet again hosting concerts from the Northumbrian Music Festival On Tour.

And to get everyone in the mood for the three performances tickets will include a reception drink and three courses of gourmet food as part of the ticket price.

On Friday, February 24, Much Loved Productions, a professional classical production company will present a Feast of Gilbert and Sullivan.

The following afternoon, one of the Borders' most highly acclaimed young bands The Northumbrian Ranters will perform a matinee concert.

And in the evening A Grand Opera Gala will be staged.

Festival organiser Barbara Huddart said: "We are delighted that the Northumbrian Music Festival is heading to Kelso and Ednam House, which will make the most fantastic background for all of the performances.

"We know from our experience that the combination of fine music and food make these concerts hugely memorable events for all who attend.”

The Grand Opera Gala concert is the perfect introduction for those who have never seen an opera before, as well as being a varied programme for established fans.

With performers previously displaying their talents on the stages of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall amongst others, this is a rare chance to enjoy evenings of quality opera in a luxurious setting.

The concert will feature music from La Traviata, Tosca, Carmen, Rigoletto, La Boheme and The Barber of Seville.

A Feast of Gilbert and Sullivan will see former members of the D’oyly Carte Opera will perform a combination of the highlights from Gilbert and Sullivan’s five operas, along with dialogue and witty anecdotes from the performers about their lives touring and performing.

The performance will include some of the comedy duo’s best loved works, including ‘A Wandering Minstrel I’, ‘Regular Royal Queen’ and ‘I am a Pirate King’.

For lovers of traditional music, The Northumbrian Ranters is a concert not to be missed.

This ensemble of in the region of 30 students comprises of fiddles, cellos, accordions, flutes, and The Northumbrian Pipes.

All have a passion for traditional music, songs and clogging and their performances have taken them all over the world, delighting audiences with their traditional Northumbrian music and songs as well as music from further afield.

Tickets for the performances start at £35 per person and include a welcome drink on arrival, gourmet three course dinner/lunch with coffee and petit fours.
