MELROSE will welcome in the festive season on Saturday with its traditional Christmas Parade.

Melrose Pipe Band will lead the tour of the town.

And it is rumoured Santa has even scheduled some of his valuable time to drop in on the celebrations.

As well as community carol singing in the Market Square following the parade, which will be led yet again by St Boswells Silver Band, there will be seasonal songs from Langlee Choir.

The Melrose Rotary celebrations will conclude with mince pies and mulled wine served in the Corn Exchange.

A spokeswoman for Melrose Rotary told us: "Everyone is welcome to come and join us sing Christmas carols beneath our Christmas tree in Melrose."

The Parade will muster in St Dunstan's Lane on Saturday (December 9) at 5.30pm.
