ALL the fun of the fair comes to St Boswells this week.

A pet show, fancy dress parade and potted sports are among the highlights at the village's annual gala which gets underway on Saturday, June 2, and runs until Sunday, June 10.

Other attractions of the St Boswells Village Fair Week include a Kids Ramble around the Donkey Sanctuary, a mini zoo and children's entertainer, a car treasure hunt, race night, golf fun day, and a guided walk.

The village also has its own version of popular ITV show Britain's Got Talent - Boswells Got Talent.

And a new addition to the programme for 2012 is the St Boswells Village Sixes, organised by St Boswells Cricket Club, who also host the traditional game of rounders and BBQ which brings the event to a close.

The full programme is as follows - Saturday, June 2: Coffee morning in church hall from 9.30am; Local food and craft fair in the Village Hall, from 9am to 2pm; Tennis fun day and BBQ at tennis court from 2pm; and Diamond Jubilee dance and supper in village hall (adults only), from 7.30pm.

Sunday, June 3: Car boot sale on the Green in aid of St Boswells Lawn Tennis Club, from 9am to 1pm; and St Boswells village cricket sixes, from 12noon.

Monday, June 4: Mini zoo and children's entertainer in the Village Hall and Lesser Hall from 9.30am to 11.30am; Lunch in the Village Hall, from 12.30pm to 2pm; Golf fun day in golf club, from 5pm; and Royal Ascot race night in British Legion, from 7.30pm.

Tuesday, June 5: Kids Ramble around the Donkey Sanctuary, from 10am to 12noon; Tradition sports afternoon, from 1pm to 3pm; Evening guided walk along the river to Dryburgh/Wallace Statue and back, from 6.30pm.

Wednesday, June 6: Car treasure hunt and supper, starting at the Village Hall at 6pm.

Thursday, June 7: Afternoon tea in the Church Hall, from 2.30pm to 4pm; Beat the Retreat, with the pipe band and local primary school children, on the Green at 6.15pm; and Boswells Got Talent in the Village Hall from 7.30pm.

Friday, June 8: Lunch clun in the Church Hall, from 12 noon to 1.30pm; Fancy dress parade with the Silver Band on the Green from 6.30pm. This year's theme is "London". The judging will take place in the Village Hall at 7.15pm and will be followed by a disco and karaoke at 7.30pm.

Saturday, June 9: Pet show, hobby horse trial and cream teas on the Green from 10am; and family football from 2.30pm.

Sunday, June 10: Church service on the Croft from 10.30am; Coffee after church in the Church Hall, from 11.30am; Potted sports and all the fun of the fair on the Croft, from 1pm; The village race, with Silver Band and raffle, from 4pm; and fun game of rounders and BBQ at the Cricket Club from 6pm.
