MUSIC and history came together in Selkirk on Saturday for a marriage made in heaven.

The former winter Scott's Selkirk festival was brought forward by a couple of months to team up with the Selkirk Sessions music festival.

Along with an open weekend at the WASPS art studios and the recent yarnbombing, the Royal Burgh was buzzing with activity and visitors.

Viv Ross from Scott's Selkirk told us: "We were very pleased with the new format.

"Running beside the Selkirk Sessions worked really well.

"There are a few things we can tweak for next year but we're all happy with how it went."

Many characters from Scott's days in charge at the town's court were to be found wandering the streets of the Royal Burgh.

And there was plenty entertainment to keep all ages happy throughout the sun-kissed Saturday.

The addition of a music stage on the High Street made sure there was plenty foot-tapping throughout the day-long festivities.

And the music continued well into the night as the Selkirk Sessions lived up to its growing reputation.

Davey Scott from the Selkirk Sessions told us: "The combination of Scott's Selkirk and the Selkirk Sessions worked really well.

"Along with the WASPS open weekend and the yarnbombing, everything complimented each other and there was a real buzz in the town all weekend."
