GLEN Golf Club is joining forces with North Berwick professional Martyn Huish to provide the county’s first indoor swing training booth – and a new retail outlet.
The new training booth, located in the club’s starter facilities, will provide full swing analysis for members and visitors, and enable them to have their swing analysed by Martyn and his team.
The new facility will also provide an indoor mid-size putting green for golfers to try out new putters. The retail outlet will also provide a full range of merchandise for golfers and visitors.
Brian Bevan, Glen captain, said: “This is a new venture for the Glen and we are delighted to be working with Martyn Huish to provide this new service to our members and visitors. The Glen is already an extremely popular course for visitors and this gives them another reason to come.”
Martyn, head professional at North Berwick GC since 2009, added: “I have always been an admirer of the Glen Golf Club and this offer to work with them to enhance the service to their members and to enhance the golf experience for visitors was one that I couldn’t turn down.
“It means that East Lothian golfers no longer have to travel miles to have their swing analysed or to buy golf equipment at competitive prices.”
Martyn took over from father David as the head professional at North Berwick Golf Club, and he also owns and operates the retail operation at the West Links course. He is looking forward to extending his business and knowledge to the East Links.
