A SELKIRK man has been accused of sex offences involving a girl under 16 years of age.
James Mercer, 49, denies a total of five charges involving the youngster which are alleged to have happened at his home in Montrose Place over a four year period.
He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis between August 2013 and August 2014.
Heather Shand, 42, also of Montrose Place, Selkirk, faces three charges of sexually assaulting the girl but has yet to enter a plea.
The case will next call at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on January 5 with a jury sitting scheduled for January 18.
