THE Borders has escaped the worst of Storm Henry, according to emergency planning teams at Scottish Borders Council.
Amber warnings were issued for the region, but the worst of the storm was felt further north.
Wind speeds of around 70 miles-per-hour were recorded overnight on the Lammermuirs with town speeds averaging between 40 and 60 miles per hour.
Apart from the C76 - back road from Earlston to Lauder - being blocked by a fallen tree for two hours there has been little disruption.
A minor D class road off the A68 was also partially blocked for a short time.
A spokesman told us: We haven't experienced the wind speeds that were forecast and we have not had any overnight reports of structural damage."
