Kelty kept their slim hopes of retaining the Super League title alive but Hill of Beath lost out in a seven goal thriller and Dundonald lost at home in the cup.
Both Lochgelly and Lochore had to settle for draws.

St Andrews Utd 2 Kelty Hearts 3

KELTY HEARTS kept their faint hopes of retaining their Super League crown alive after a thrilling comeback at St Andrews United.
Manager Thomas Courts was looking for a reaction from his side’s shock home defeat to Tayport last time out – a result that meant only a capitulation from leaders Bonnyrigg Rose would offer them a chance at staying in the title race.
Following Bonnyrigg’s midweek draw at Linlithgow, this win for Kelty narrowed the gap to nine points and, although the odds remain in the pacesetters’ favour, Courts will be pleased that his team are at applying some pressure.
It didn’t look as though that would be the case as the visitors fell behind when Ricky Patrick’s long throw was cleared by the Jambos’ backline but only as far as Liam Rolland, who found the bottom corner of the net from 12 yards.
That stung Kelty into action and they found themselves level in the 34th minute when Stuart Cargill was on hand to bury the ball beyond goalkeeper Darren Clarkson from close range.
Paddy Deane almost regained the lead for United early in the second half when he hit the post – but on the hour mark they retook the lead from the penalty spot.
Referee Jonathan Bell spotted a handball in the Kelty wall from Barry Sibanda’s free-kick, and the same St Andrews player stepped up to convert the kick
Back came Kelty though and five minutes later, the game was all square again when Scott Gates’ corner was met by Brian Ritchie to flick the ball home.
They then completed the comeback with just eight minutes to go when Bell awarded Hearts a penalty, again for handball, against Craig Wedderburn. Substitute Stephen Husband slotted the ball home and although Stuart Cargill was ordered off for a second booking late on, Kelty had done enough to come out on top.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn 3 Tayport 4

HILL OF BEATH snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at Keir’s Park as Tayport claimed an unlikely win.
Bobby Wilson’s side looked to have secured all three points with just four minutes left as they led 3-2, but Matt Adam’s equaliser and subsequent winner deep into stoppage time saw them fall to their sixth home defeat of the season.
Central Fife’s Super League big guns will be pleased to see the back of Tayport, whose dramatic victory followed a stunning success at title chasing Kelty Hearts last time out.
The Canniepairt side are battling to preserve their Super League status and although the Haws started this game well, the visitors went in front on 15 minutes when Danny Cavanagh curled a superb free-kick into the top corner of the net from 20 yards out.
Despite pressure from Hill of Beath, it was Tayport who struck again just after the interval when Clark Kay’s free kick found Dale Reid to send a glancing header beyond the despairing Stuart Hall.
Wilson’s men dug deep and got their reward on the hour mark when Scott McCrindle’s corner was headed home by Colin Wilson.
Sensing a comeback, Haws quickly pulled themselves level through Aaron Hay’s header and then, just two minutes later, he cashed in on a terrible mix-up in the Tayport defence to put the home side 3-2 ahead.
They then created further chances to kill off Tayport’s challenge with Cameron Smith rattling the woodwork and Wilson sending the rebound wide.
Those misses were to haunt Haws when Tayport equalised with four minutes left. Dale Robertson’s high ball found Adam, whose presence was enough to send the ball over the line. And when Gary Sutherland nodded  a long ball forward for Adam to run on, he sealed an incredible victory for Tayport.

Fife and Lothians Cup third round:
Dundonald Bluebell 1 Bonnyrigg Rose 2

DUNDONALD fell short in their quest to reach the Fife and Lothians Cup quarter finals against Super League leaders Bonnyrigg Rose.
Bluebell are riding high at the top of the Premier League and gave a fine illustration of their credentials in an entertaining match at Moorside Park.
The visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute through a fine individual effort from Scott Gray. But Craig Morrison’s underdogs levelled midway through the second half thanks to a header from Callum Young.
But with 13 minutes left, Kieran McGachie bulleted home Lewis Turner’s corner to put Bonnyrigg through to a last-eight meeting with Tranent Juniors.

Lochee Harp 3 Lochore Welfare 3

LOCHORE WELFARE remain firmly in mid-table in the North Division after a last-gasp equaliser salvaged a hard-fought point at Lochee Harp.
In an entertaining encounter on Tayside, John Cusick’s team fought back from two goals down and a deficit of 3-2 to earn what was their first draw on the road this season.
The home raced into a two goal lead thanks to Conor Ireland and Graham Allan, but Welfare fought back well to level thanks to Jim Davis’ strike and Lee Celentano’s penalty. Robbie Norrie restored Harp’s lead.
But in the final minute, veteran midfielder Colin Cameron showed the class that made him a Scotland international by thumping home a volley to ensure Welfare a point.

West Calder United 2 Lochgelly Albert 2

A CONTROVERSIAL equaliser rescued a point for Lochgelly Albert against a West Calder side who finished with nine men.
The Berts roared back from two goals down with substitute John Ferguson scoring twice.
But despite holding a numerical advantage from the 50th minute, they were unable to find a winner.
