A LONG serving Focus Centre committee member was honoured at a special presentation earlier this month.

Chair of the Committee Judith Cleghorn has given 25 years of service to the Focus Centre, and her effort and dedication was acknowledged at this year's AGM.

Secretary Tracey Alder gave a speech dedicated to Judith and presented her with a Gift Voucher for £100 from the centre and an envelope containing £180 of Euros for her impending holiday to France. Gavin Curran from the group presented a bouquet of flowers.

Ms Cleghorn was surprised and overwhelmed. She thanked everyone for their generosity. The AGM was followed by a short cheese and wine get together where all of those present enjoyed a wee drink and toasted all the hard work and dedication that Judith has put in at the Focus Centre over the last 25 years.

Speaking to the Border Telegraph, Tracey Alder said: “Judith has been the backbone of the Focus Centre for the last 25 years. She has been responsible for nearly all of the entertainment put on, she has cooked a Christmas Meal every year for all of the Committee.

“Every time there has been anything to be catered for Judith has donned on her apron and been the person who has been at the Focus from early morning preparing and cooking and done it all without a second thought.

“She continues to strive to make the Focus a vibrant place for the user groups and the public. She is a credit to the centre.”
