A 28-year-old man has been accused of drug dealing after heroin with a street value of £8,000 was recovered from a flat in Galashiels.
Police officers armed with a search warrant raided the property in the town's High Street last Tuesday, where they found the large quantity of diamorphine powder.
Christopher Ferguson appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court accused of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.
He also faced a charge of assault to severe injury.
Ferguson of Galashiels, made no plea or declaration and his case was continued for further examination.
He was remanded in custody by Sheriff Peter Paterson and is expected to appear in court again this week.
