A teenager was robbed by two men in a Borders village at the weekend.

The 15-year-old was on his way home at 12.30am on Sunday when he was stopped by the men near Blackadder Caravan Park in Greenlaw.

The thugs forced the boy to hand over his wallet and other personal possessions.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "As he walked towards Duns Road he noticed two males approaching from the opposite direction.

"They stopped him and demanded that he hand over his personal belongings including his wallet and acted in a threatening manner."

Local officers are now appealing for information to help trace the two men.

The first suspect, who had a distinctive lip piercing, is described as white, around 6-foot tall, in his early 20s of slim build with shoulder length blond hair. He was wearing black clothing.

The second suspect was also white and had facial stubble and wearing grey clothing.

Detective Constable Callum Peoples said: "We are pursuing various lines of inquiry and are now seeking the assistance of the public to swiftly trace these individuals.

"Fortunately, the victim was able to provide us with strong descriptions of the suspects and I'm hopeful that someone in the local community will have vital information."

Anyone who can help should contact police immediately on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
