A 20-year-old woman was killed in a head on crash yesterday in Berwickshire.
The passenger in a Mercedes van was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision with an articulated lorry on the A1 near Grantshouse.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Gary Taylor said: "Unfortunately a young woman has lost her life and we are currently working to establish the full set of circumstances that led up to this collision.
"I urge anyone who was travelling on the A1 on Sunday afternoon and who remembers seeing either the Mercedes Vito van or the Scania lorry to please contact police if not already done so."
The crash happened at around 3.40pm yesterday.
A stretch of the A1 has remained closed to allow for collision investigation work to be carried out and for the scene to be cleared.
