TO mark the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design, Bowhill House and Country Estate has commissioned a map of its gardens for visitors.

The illustrated map is the combined work of local Borders artist Hannah Longmuir and graphic designer Paul McLean.

They showcase the intricate design of the gardens, highlighting how architecture and design can go far beyond structures and buildings.

Helen Currie, House and Events Manager at Bowhill, told the Border Telegraph: “We are delighted with the final prints of these stunning garden maps.

“Bowhill’s gardens are unlike the traditional, formal gardens found at other Buccleuch Estates and we wanted to showcase each element in an aesthetically pleasing way.

“We hope the maps will enhance our visitors experience and highlight the rich history and wealth of activities the garden has to offer.”

The two page leaflet specifies the various points of interest in the gardens including the different types of flowers and wildlife which can be spotted around the grounds as well as detailing highlights from its rich history. The historical facts accompanied by intricate illustrations acts as a unique tour guide for visitors exploring the grounds.

The A3 Bowhill garden map is handed out to visitors at the entry kiosk.
