PIPE bands from across the Borders and further afield came together on Sunday to help celebrate a day of Scottish traditions at Floors Castle.

More than 200 musicians took part in the annual Massed Pipe Band event outside Kelso.

And straight from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the The Lochiel Marching Drill Band from New Zealand brought some international flavour to a day to savour.

As well as the cream of local pipe bands, further musical entertainment was provided by toe-tapping ceilidh bands.

A crowd of well over 1,000 people enjoyed the annual celebration at the historic castle.

Dozens of step-perfect Highland dancers provided an enjoyable hour or two.

And there was plenty to keep the whole family entertained with dog agility races, birds of prey, archery, bouncy castles and even tomahawk throwing.
