A BUS almost ended up in a river in Jedburgh when it crashed this morning.
Police were called to the A68 at 9:44am following reports of a single-decker on the parapet of the Duck Row Bridge.
The BBC is reporting that the Peter Hogg bus hit a car and struck a roadside wall several times when it came off the road, before crashing into the metal barrier, which stopped it from hitting the water.
And an investigation is under way to determine what forced the bus off the road.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "No one was injured in the incident however a small number of passengers were left shaken and were checked over by paramedics at the scene.
"The road was closed for around an hour while the vehicle was safely removed."
