SUPERMARKET giant ASDA has issued a recall on a popular cider drink over fears the bottles may explode.
The chain which has a 24-hour superstore on Currie Road, Galashiels, has urged any shoppers who have bought the products to return them immediately.
In a statement from ASDA, they said: "As a precautionary measure, Kopparberg is recalling these two varieties of 750ml bottles of Kopparberg Sparkling Rose. In a very small number of cases, the bottles may break when in normal use.
"If you have purchased either of these Kopparberg products, please handle with care and dispose of the bottles in your household waste.
"The drink itself is not affected, although it is recommended that you don’t open it.
"If you would like any further information and to request a refund for your bottles, please call ASDA customer relations on 0800 952 0101.
"Consumers can also contact Kopparberg UK Consumer Relations at info@kopparberg.co.uk."
The supermarket added that this product was only available at ASDA stores and no other Kopparberg products are affected.
