A NEW generation of ravers will hit the dancefloor on Saturday (October 29) as Big Fish Little Fish make a welcome return to Galashiels.

And this time the Edinburgh two-to-four-hour party people are bringing along legendary Selkirk DJ, The General, to celebrate Halloween.

Aimed at families with younger children - below eight years old - Big Fish Little Fish sell out venues across the country as they help parents act 'responsibly irresponsible'.

Kirstie Wilson from Big Fish Little Fish told us: "It’s a fun, relaxed festival vibe with real DJs playing real upfront music - at a monitored safe level - where the kids have as much fun as the adults.

"We launched the Scotland Big Fish Little Fish in Edinburgh in March, and have had phenomenal success."

As well as club lighting, a parachute and bubble machine the events also offer craft and play areas, a giant colouring-in mural and babies-only ball pool.

Sunday's Skeleton Rave at the Mac Arts is encouraging spooky fancy dress.

And The General, aka Gary Dickson, who became one of Scotland's most in demand DJs during his residency at Manga and Headrush is promising an afternoon of brilliant beats.

Gary told the Border Telegraph: "Big Fish Little Fish host family raves all over the UK and they feature some big name DJs, so I'm feeling pretty honoured to have been asked to come along and do a set.

"A lot of the mums and dads that I know who are going were ravers themselves not all that long ago. It should be a cracking afternoon for the children and their parents."

Voted Best Family Event 2015 at The National Family Arts Festival, Big Fish Little Fish has been running regularly in London since 2013, and has also been named in The Top Ten of Time’s 101 Best Things To Do With Kids in London.

Big Fish Little Fish launched in Scotland earlier this year at Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele.

Refreshments will be available throughout the Saturday afternoon's Skeleton Rave with free fruit bowl snacks.

The rave runs from 2pm until 4.30pm at the Mac Arts Centre in Galashiels.

Tickets are available on the door.
