A WARRANT has been issued for a man who allegedly made up a story about being injured on the Eildons and wasted the time of rescue and emergency services.
Michael Cumisky of Cadogan Street, Middlesborough, is charged with wasting the time of the emergency services by falsely claiming he needed rescuing.
The 22 year-old is accused of causing annoyance and inconvenience to members of the Fire Service, Scottish Ambulance Service, Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team and the police service by sending messages he knew to be false.
It is claimed he stated that he had fallen and was injured, was immobilisied and required to be rescued on July 9.
He previously pleaded not guilty to the charge and a trial date has been fixed for November 22.
But he failed to show for his intermediate diet hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
