Peebles S1 41

Notre Dame S1 8

Peebles Seniors 46

Robert Gordon Seniors 47

WITH all four Peebles Netball school teams into the quarter final stage of the gold section of the Scottish Schools’ Cup, match scheduling has been busy to fit the games in by the tight deadlines.

The two home quarter final matches took place early in the week.

Peebles S1s produced the goods to stamp their authority on the visitors from the west of Scotland, and achieve the scoreline they wanted to post before moving to semi-final stage. Peebles S1s were also delighted to have some great support from a large contingent of netballers from Halyrude Primary school in Peebles.

Peebles Seniors had a heart-breaking end to their match, with the lead changing throughout their hour long match against the Aberdonians, and never more than a few goals in it, the final whistle went as Peebles were on the attack once again. Both teams looked potential winners of the Schools’ Cup, but on this occasion, Peebles were not to progress.

Two more fixtures late in the week involve long trips away. Reigning Scottish Schools champions, Peebles S3s, travel to Helensburgh to play Hermitage Academy; and Peebles S2s, semi-finalists from last year, play St Andrew’s Academy in Paisley, the team that knocked them out last year following a controversial match full of incident.
