GALA have boosted their squad with two new signings.

Former Berwick Rangers defender Kieran Ainslie has joined from Tweedmouth Rangers, while goalkeeper Jamie Shiel has signed on the dotted line from rivals Vale of Leithen.

Ainslie made his debut for the Fairydean Rovers on Saturday when he came on for Des Sutherland in the 87th minute, while Shiel was an unused substitute.

And the boss Steven Noble says he is “delighted” with his new additions.

He told the Border Telegraph: “I’ve known Jamie for years and he’s probably the best young keeper in Gala.

“I don’t think it quite went to plan at the Vale, but he’s a local lad and we would like nothing more than for him to become our number one.

“Kieran Ainslie has come from Tweedmouth Rangers and we’ve been in touch with him for a long time.

“He’s been at Berwick Rangers in the past so he’s got great experience and he’s a really good player. He’s also been brilliant in training over the last couple of weeks, so he’ll not be far away from getting a place in the team.

“We’re shaping up pretty well and we’re delighted with the signings we have brought in.”
