AN Innerleithen lorry driver, who failed an eye test after crashing into a digger killing its driver has been jailed.
On December 9, 2015, John Rogerson hit the JCB on the A1 near Alnwick, Northumberland, instantly killing 54-year-old Stephen Clarehugh.
The 72-year-old later failed a mandatory eye test and pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
On Monday he was jailed for 28 months and also banned from driving for six years and two months at Newcastle Crown Court.
