RESIDENTS of several Border towns are currently affected by a power cut.
Works are underway to restore all services to the towns of Jedburgh, Kelso and Melrose, which may take a couple of hours.
Jim Fraser, the Emergency Planning Officer from Scottish Borders Council, told the Border Telegraph: "SP Energy networks have identified the fault and it has been resolved in most areas and the power should be restored, however a number of outlying area may still be awaiting the restoration of power supplies, but this is expected to be completed shortly and we will keep you updated .
"We are unable to be precise as to which area is affected due to the size of the outage but we hope most customers have been restored.
The power outage is also affecting services by Scottish Borders Council.
A spokesperson from SBC added: "Due to the ongoing powercut, some of our services have lost phone lines. Please call 0300 100 1800 if you cannot get through directly."
