A HUSBAND and wife team are serving up their final dish at Peebles Golf Club.

James and Yvonne Lees, who run Jazz Catering, have announced their resignation as the contract caterer at the club, after cooking up a storm at the club's restaurant for over nine years.

Graham Lowther, Club Captain from Peebles Golf Club said: "It is unfortunate that we announce the resignation of Jazz Catering as the contract caterer at the club, having handed in his notice earlier this week.

"Having provided an excellent service for the club, our members and visitors for the past nine and a half years, it will be sad to see Jazz and his family leaving the role.

"We are sure you have all enjoyed the food that has been served over the years, playing an important role in keeping our clubhouse busy.

"Jazz leaves with our best wishes and on behalf of the club we would like to wish him well with his future endeavours. His final day will be Sunday, April 30."

A search is now underway to find a new team to step up to the plate.
Graham added: "If any members have any suggestions or recommendations, we would gladly consider them, while we are also consulting other relevant parties in the golf industry as we seek to find a replacement, both short term if required and for the long term.

"It is vitally important for the club that we find the right catering partner who can continue to provide the best level of service for our members and visitors."

Before joining as the club caterer in 2009, chef James previously worked as head chef in one of Peebles' most popular hotels and restaurants, The Green Tree.

Supported by his wife Yvonne, the pair worked and lived at the club since signing the initial contract. Over the years, James has cooked a variety of dishes, and supported the many private and member functions held in the Clubhouse.

Members who have existing bookings beyond Jazz's departure date, should contact Club Manager Niall Watson on 01721 720197.
