SEVERAL phone networks, plus TV and Radio services are down across parts of Peeblesshire due to 'essential maintenance', just weeks after previous problems hit the area.

Residents living in Peebles previously reported 'No service' problems with several phone networks in the area on Monday, March 27.

The issues currently mobile affecting users today, (Tuesday, April 18) are on the EE, Three, O2, Tesco Mobile, GiffGaff and Virgin Mobile networks.

A statement on Three's website didn't state problems affecting users today, but warned of works starting tomorrow: "We're planning some network improvements in your area on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. We really hope this doesn't affect your services too much, but once we're done you'll have a better network experience."

A spokesperson for EE said: "Our engineers are on site to upgrade the network. We expect good service within six hours."

On the coverage and network status page on the O2 website, it states: "Sorry a phone mast in the area isn't working. This means you might experience problems making calls, using the internet, or sending/receiving emails."

The problems are also affecting TV viewers and BBC radio listeners across the area due to 'essential engineering work' on the Peebles transmitter.

On the BBC's Reception Search website, they said: "Sorry, one or more services are affected by a fault or essential maintenance. We can't give an estimated fix time but engineers are working hard to restore services as quickly as possible."
