KIERAN Riddell has been announced as the 2017 Selkirk Standard Bearer.
The 27-year-old partner in the family stonemason business was carried head-high around the Royal Burgh this evening.
And excited Kieran, who cast the Hammerman's Flag back in 2013, was thrilled with his reception.
He told the Border Telegraph: "This is something I've wanted to do since I was a young boy.
"I've always been into horses and I first rode the Marches when I was 14."
Kieran will follow in the footsteps of his father, Keith, who cast the Royal Burgh Flag in 1981.
For all the colour and reaction don't miss next week's Border Telegraph.
