A PEEBLES group is reaching out to seek new residents to come and join them.

The Round Table in Peebles and District has 14 active members, but organisers have launched the search for more.

The group offers opportunities ways to get involved in the local community and enjoy an active social calendar.

Among the annual fundraising is the bar at the Agricultural Show, organising the Peebles Fireworks and helping Santa wing his way around the local area.

Chris Davey from Peebles and District Round Table said: “The Round Table are grateful to a number of local businesses who support the local events, not least Stobo Castle who sponsor the Fireworks. All of these events continue to reap rewards for local good causes.

“Last year was another successful one under the stewardship of Paul Ackerman, Chairman. The baton has now been firmly passed to Matt Kennedy who took over as Chairman at the AGM held in March.

“This year’s fundraising activities kick off with the annual Mile of Silver on Peebles High Street on tomorrow (Saturday, May 13).

“If you are interested in finding out more about what we do and how to join you can find our contact details are on our Facebook page at facebook.com/peebles.roundtable.”
