GALA Cricket Club’s juniors are on the path to success thanks to a shirt sponsorship deal with MKM Building Supplies.

The Galashiels building merchants have sponsored the club’s new under 11 and under 14 shirts.

And the shirts also carry the logo of the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust in recognition of the charity’s close ties with Gala CC and the huge support the Trust have given the club over recent years.

The shirts had their first outing this week as Gala’s under 14s played at Selkirk in the Border League, and the under 11s competed in the Hawick Kwik Cricket Festival on Sunday.

Jack Halls, Gala CC’s junior convenor, said: “Many thanks to MKM Building Supplies for these new shirts.

“The new shirts look great and our youngsters will enjoy wearing them for games and tournaments across the Borders this summer.

"Thanks also to the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust for their considerable support for our junior section over a number of years."

MKM Building Supplies’ Galashiels branch director Bob Hogarth said: “MKM aims to support local causes and we are delighted to back Gala Cricket Club’s junior section.

“We are also pleased that the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust are involved as we are raising money for the charity throughout 2017.”

MKM Building Supplies opened its new branch at Netherdale Industrial Estate in November last year.

Any youngsters keen to play cricket are invited to come up to the club for training on Tuesdays at 6.30pm to 8pm, with further details available from galacricketclub@gmail.com.
