The main event of the last week at Gala Waverley was the Ladies section 50th Anniversary Afternoon Tea held at the clubrooms on Thursday with over 40 past and present members attending.
Given that the Ladies President Margaret Wilson had mislaid her written speech she did particularly well giving a very entertaining and informative address of the early days of the Ladies section including the setting up of the Border League at the club and their many successes as Champions.
As well as Mrs Wilson, fellow original members Eileen Playfair and Eelin Nicholson rolled bowls to mark the occassion.
Ella Grieve, who is also an original member, was unable to attend but was presented with flowers at her home.
A great day was enjoyed by all.
