DISRUPTION is expected as essential maintenance works are carried out on a Borders road next week.
Carriageway resurfacing works will take place on the A68 at Lethem Junction on Monday, June 5 and Tuesday, June 6 from 8am to 6pm.
To carry out this scheme a convoy system will be in operation on Monday followed by a full road closure at this location on Tuesday.
During the closure, Northbound traffic will be diverted to exit the A68 north of Carter Bar on the A6088.
From here, traffic will proceed until Hawick and will turn right onto the A698.
Traffic will continue on this road until approaching the A68 junction where diversion will end. Southbound traffic will follow the same diversion route in the opposite direction.
The work has been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services and Scottish Borders Council.
