THREE people from Galashiels have made a private court appearance in connection with the recovery of drugs valued at £27,800 from two addresses in the town.

Sixty-nine-year-old Arthur Douglas, Yvonne Noble, who is 49, and 30-year-old Glenn Noble are all charged with being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug to another.

They made no plea and were committed for further examination following a hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Douglas and Yvonne Noble were released on bail while Glenn Noble was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court again next week.

The court appearance follows a police search of three addresses in Galashiels on Tuesday as part of Operation Gatekeeper.

Detective Sergeant Barry Roebuck of Police Scotland said: "We will not tolerate the supply of controlled drugs in our communities and we will continue to work closely with the community and our partners to ensure any offences detected are reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

“I can assure the public that any information relating to drug activity in their areas will be acted upon appropriately and handled in a discreet manner.”
