FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a burning car in Peebles in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police and fire crews rushed to the scene of the blazing Ford Maverick vehicle in North Street.
Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “At 2.08am on Tuesday the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to reports of a car on fire at North Street in Peebles.
“One appliance attended and the crew extinguished the fire using a high-powered hose.
“There were no casualties and firefighters ensured the area was made safe before leaving the scene.”
Police Scotland said: “This is currently being treated as an isolated incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Galashiels Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0244 of July 11.
“Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
