A MAN who assaulted a 27-year-old victim to his severe injury has been ordered to carry out 175 hours unpaid work.
During a trial at Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Joshua Watson changed his plea to guilty to stamping on the man's head.
The assault happened in The Square, Kelso, on October 30.
The 23-year-old, formerly of Kelso and now living in Burntisland in Fife, was told the sentence was an alternative to custody "bearing in mind the severity of the offence".
