A CHARITY bottle containing around £500 was taken during a break-in at a supermarket.

Officers were called to the Iceland store in Hawick during the early hours of Monday morning.

Detectives are now appealing for help to snare the thieves.

Detective Constable Callum Peoples told us: “We are investigating following a break in to a supermarket in Victoria Road, Hawick.

“The incident was reported to police around 4.30am on Monday. "A quantity of cash was taken as a result break in.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing. "
