A HAWICK motorist who was more than three times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 15 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Twenty-one-year old Colin Richardson of Ramsay Road, appeared from custody and pleaded guilty to the offence which happened on Saturday.
He admitted driving with a breath/alcohol count of 71 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22 - on the A7 at Kingsknowes in Galashiels.
A not guilty plea to failing to reveal the identity of the driver of the vehicle in nearby Tweed Road was accepted by the Crown.
In addition to the 15 month ban, Richardson was fined £300.
