A MAN has died following a fatal collision on the A7.
The incident happened at around 5.40pm last night (Thursday) just north of Stow, when a white Fiat Doblo was in collision with a black Nissan X-trail.
Police and ambulance attended but the 40-year-old driver of the Fiat Doblo sadly died at the scene.
The road was closed until 11pm to allow officers to complete collision investigations.
Officers are now asking anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch if they have not already done so.
Anyone who saw either vehicle in the period before the collision is also asked to get in touch.
Sergeant Neil Inglis of the divisional road policing unit said: “We are still carrying out inquiries to fully establish the circumstances of this collision.
"Anyone with information that can assist us is asked to get in touch on 101 quoting incident number 3006 of August 10."
