POLICE believe that a missing Dalkeith man may be in the Peeblesshire.
An appeal for information has launched to trace 29-year-old Neil Hindle who was last seen at around 8.30pm on Monday, August 8 at an address in Eskview Road area of Dalkeith.
He has not been seen since and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Neil is described as white, of medium build, five foot six inches tall with short dark brown hair and stubble.
He was last seen wearing a black jumper, grey Adidas cotton bottoms and a red Adidas hat.
He is thought to be driving a grey Vauxhall Astra with the registration DY52YLR.
Inspector Kate Blundell of Dalkeith Police Station said: "We are keen to trace Neil to ensure he is safe and well. We have been carrying out a number of enquiries to locate him, he regularly frequents fishing lakes in Midlothian and the Scottish Borders and checks are being carried out in these locations.
"Anyone who may have seen Neil or his car, or has information on his whereabouts, should contact police immediately."
Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3766 of Monday, August 14.
