A KELSO teenager found in possession of a class A drug in the toilets of a Galashiels nightclub has been fined £175 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Nineteen-year-old William Pownall of Broomlea Court, pleaded guilty to having £60 worth of ecstasy at the Warehouse in Overhaugh Street during the early hours of August 21 last year.
The court was told that at around 2.20am security staff did a routine check of the gents toilets and discovered that two people were in the same cubicle.
After knocking on the door and getting no response, they gained entry and discovered a plastic bag which had six half-gramme bags inside with a value of £60.
Sheriff Peter Paterson described Pownall's conduct as "stupid" saying:"You have no idea what these pills contain. It is a risk to your health."
