TELEPHONE lines at Borders General Hospital are back up and running after a loss of service lasting nearly three hours.
Engineers were scrambled to the Melrose site at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon to restore communications lines for patients and staff.
NHS Borders said that business continuity plans were activated while work was carried out to restore telephone communications.
In a statement at 7.20pm on Sunday evening, NHS Borders said: "Borders General Hospital phone lines back up and running.
"Thank you to all patients and families for your patience and support."
