THERE was a musical surprise in store for Galashiels community councillor Tony Brown on Saturday.
The wheelchair-using 51-year-old has been housebound in recent months as he convalesces from major surgery.
Before his enforced lay-off, Tony was a keen member of the Langlee Community Choir.
And in order to wish him all the best for a speedy recovery, his choirmates took a break from performing at the Langlee Carnival to 'flash mob' Tony at his Croft Street home.
Choir member Judith Cleghorn explained: “Tony’s a very popular member of our choir and we wanted to let him know we are all thinking about him."
After being serenaded, Tony said he was “over the moon” at the gesture.
“I had no idea that this was planned so it was a complete surprise and it really did cheer me up,” he added.
Tony is hoping to resume his choir and community council duties in the spring of next year.
