Pensioner accused of assaulting social worker
A PENSIONER has been accused of assaulting a female social worker at a Borders secondary school.
Rose McHugh is charged with repeatedly striking the woman on the arm and throwing envelopes at her at Hawick High School on June 26.
The 68-year-old of Ancrum Court, Hawick, pleaded not guilty at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
A trial date has been fixed for January 23 with an intermediate hearing on December 1.
