THE Tweed Valley Forest Festival is back in Peebles this weekend.
The event, which has been running since 2006, has attracted over 5,000 people each year to celebrate the connections with the area’s Halloween customs and growing forest culture.
Across both days (October 21 and 22), there's a chance to check out some of the best chainsaw carvers in Scotland on the town's Tweed Green, who will create a range of sculptures and benches.
Also in store, the Wood Market will offer the chance to purchase a range of wooden products at Peebles Community Centre and Tweed Green. The market runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Organiser Chris Sawers said: "Outdoors on Tweed Green you can see a team of chainsaw artists creating wonderful animals and a mobile sawmill in action.
"You will be able to try your hand at making a wooden spoon, bat box or a traditional witches broom for Halloween.
"Plus there's an opportunity to meet local firewood suppliers and meet Caitlin, who will demonstrate horse logging on Tweed Green."
She added: "A hugely popular part of the Tweed Valley Forest Festival is the annual Scottish Conker Championships, which are going from strength to strength since they started in 2007.
"The players compete in four categories – Junior, Youth, Adult and Rogue – using horse chestnuts."
